How X-ray search works
Five operators do all the work. The tool combines them for you.

|---|---|---|
site:linkedin.com/in | Only LinkedIn profile pages | site:uk.linkedin.com/in for one country |
"quotes" | That exact phrase | "head of sales" |
OR | Either term (capital letters) | ("CEO" OR "founder") |
-minus | Leave out results with this word | -"recruiter" |
( brackets ) | Group OR terms together | ("London" OR "Manchester") |

Questions
What is LinkedIn X-ray search?
Searching LinkedIn through Google or Bing instead of LinkedIn itself. A search like site:linkedin.com/in "head of sales" "London" returns public LinkedIn profiles that match, without using your LinkedIn search allowance.
Is LinkedIn X-ray search legal?
Yes. You're running an ordinary Google or Bing search and opening public pages. What breaks Google's and LinkedIn's terms is scraping the results automatically at scale, not searching.
Why do I get so few results?
Search engines only index public profiles, and LinkedIn limits what they can see, so X-ray finds a fraction of what LinkedIn search or Sales Navigator shows. Remove a keyword, use OR for similar titles, or try Bing, which often returns different profiles.
Should I use Google or Bing?
Try both. They index different LinkedIn profiles, and Bing is often less strict about long searches. The buttons above run the same search on each.
Is there a limit on search length?
Google ignores anything after 32 words, and every quoted word and OR counts. The tool counts the words and warns you before you hit the limit.
Is it free?
Yes. The tool builds the search in your browser and sends nothing to Wingflow. The search itself runs on Google or Bing.
