How to start the trial
- Click Try Premium for free (or Try for free on a plan page).
- Pick the plan that fits: Career for job hunting, Business or Sales Navigator for selling.
- LinkedIn shows whether you're eligible. If you are, enter your card and confirm.
If no free option appears, you've most likely used a trial in the past 12 months or you already pay for a LinkedIn plan.
How to cancel before you're charged
On desktop: Me → Premium features → Manage subscription → Purchases → Active subscription → Cancel subscription → Confirm cancel (LinkedIn Help).
Two things to know:
- Cancelling a trial ends Premium immediately, not at the end of the month. If you want the full month, cancel close to the end, at least a day before the billing date.
- Sales Navigator emails a reminder 7 days before its trial ends. For other plans, set your own reminder.
Is the trial worth it?
It's worth it if you have a specific job for the month: a job search, a burst of prospecting, or testing InMail. Plan what you'll do with it before you start, because you can't get another trial for a year, and you can't switch plans for free during one.
If your goal is outreach, you don't need Premium for invitations and follow-ups: a regular account can send connection requests, and messages to your connections are free. Premium mainly adds InMail credits, unlimited personal notes on invitations and more search (connection limits explained). Outreach tools like Wingflow also work with a free LinkedIn account, so you can run invitations and follow-ups without paying for Premium.
Questions
How long is the LinkedIn Premium free trial?
Usually one month. LinkedIn's current Help page says trial length may vary by region or promotion, so check the length shown when you click Try for free.
Do you need a credit card for the LinkedIn Premium free trial?
Yes. LinkedIn says you must enter a valid credit card to start the trial, and it becomes a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends.
Why am I not eligible for a LinkedIn Premium free trial?
Usually because you've had a LinkedIn trial in the past 12 months, or you're already on a paid LinkedIn plan. Not every member qualifies, and LinkedIn doesn't let you request one.
What happens if I cancel my LinkedIn Premium trial?
Premium access stops right away, and you won't be eligible for another trial for at least 12 months. Cancel at least a day before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
Can I get a refund after the trial converts?
LinkedIn says Premium may be refundable within 7 days of the charge if you haven't used any Premium features.
