From Apollo's pricing page. Every seat on an account has to be on the same plan.

How credits work: each plan gets one monthly pool, granted upfront, that doesn't roll over. Revealing an email costs 1 credit and a mobile number 8, so mobile-heavy prospecting uses a Basic plan's 2,500 credits fast. Extra credits are sold as add-ons.

What Apollo does well

  • A lot in one place: search, enrichment, email sequences, a dialer, meeting booking and Salesforce or HubSpot sync.
  • Price: a fraction of enterprise data tools, with a genuinely usable free plan.
  • Filters: detailed company and contact filters, plus buying-intent data on higher plans.
  • Chrome extension: shows Apollo data on LinkedIn and Sales Navigator profiles, so you can save a contact and reveal an email while browsing.

Common complaints

  • Data accuracy: the most frequent complaint, especially for mobile numbers and contacts outside the US. Apollo refunds credits for verified emails that bounce within 30 days if you sent from Apollo; mobile credits aren't refunded (Apollo docs).
  • Credits run out: mobile reveals at 8 credits each add up quickly.
  • Complexity: lots of features means a learning curve.
  • Support: slower on lower tiers, according to reviewers.

Apollo and LinkedIn

Apollo sequences can include LinkedIn steps (connection request, profile view, post interaction, message), but they're manual tasks: Apollo's docs say it "doesn't automatically complete LinkedIn tasks for you" (Apollo docs). A rep copies the message and sends it in LinkedIn by hand, and replies don't sync back.

That's where a LinkedIn outreach tool fits alongside it: use Apollo to find and enrich prospects and run email, and a tool like Wingflow to send the LinkedIn invitations, messages and follow-ups automatically. See the best LinkedIn automation tools for the options.

Is Apollo.io worth it?

Yes, if you need contact data and email sequences on a budget and will check data quality before sending. Start on the free plan to test the data in your market.

Look elsewhere if you need highly accurate mobile numbers, mostly sell outside the US, or your outreach happens on LinkedIn rather than email.

Questions

It's mixed. Users praise the coverage, but stale emails and mobile numbers are the most common complaint, especially outside the US. Apollo refunds credits for verified emails that bounce within 30 days when sent from Apollo.

Does Apollo automate LinkedIn?

No. Apollo's LinkedIn sequence steps are reminders: its help docs say Apollo doesn't automatically complete LinkedIn tasks for you, so a person sends each request and message by hand.
